Senior Band Members and Parents Recognized Oct. 6

A pregame introduction of senior marching band members and their parents will take place on 10/6 (Homecoming.) Parents of senior marching band members should arrive prior to pregame promptly at 6:40 pm.

Parma Band Spectacular to feature Kent State Univ.

The annual Parma Band Spectacular will be held at Byers Field on Saturday, October 8th, 7 PM. Enjoy an evening of marching and music featuring Normandy, Parma and Valley Forge bands. Also performing will be the bands from Brooklyn, Brookside, Cuyahoga Falls, Holy Name, Saint Ignatius and Strongsville High Schools as well as a special visit from the Kent State University Marching Golden Flashes. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and the event will take place rain or shine.

IHS Marching Band at Cedar Point, Saturday Oct. 22

On Saturday, October 22, 2011, we will have the opportunity to perform along a 20-minute parade route at Cedar Point (Sandusky, Ohio). As a musical and educational outreach, we will be partnering with the Northwood High School Marching Band for this joint performance.

Tentative Schedule

9:00 a.m. - Report IHS
9:30 a.m. - Depart IHS for Cedar Point
11:00 a.m. - Arrive Cedar Point/Rehearsal with NHS
12:00 - 1:00 p.m. - Cedar Point Performance (TBD)
1:00 p.m. - Lunch with NHS at Pavilion (TBD)
9:00 p.m. - Depart Cedar Point for IHS
11:00 p.m. - Arrive IHS

Students Sing National Anthem

Kudos to IHS students Kim Cashin, Rachel Stasek, Mike Abbadini and Julia Abbadini. They participated in the CVCC's 40th anniversary celebration by singing the National Anthem with CVCC staff members. IHS was the only school in the CVCC district that had student participants. Thank you, Amy Hanratty, from CVCC for giving the students this opportunity. Way to represent, ladies and gentleman.
